**Add Phone Number**, **Custom SIP Trunk** opens **Connect via SIP trunk**, a
searchable list of 30 carriers, PBXs and contact-centre platforms plus **Custom /
other**. Choosing one pre-fills the trunk's **Nickname** with the carrier's name
and labels the trunk with it in the **Summary**. It fills in nothing else, and
every carrier goes through the same form. In the form's **Trunk & gateways** step,
**Detect** can identify the server at the host you enter and fill in the first
gateway; registration and the SIP options stay for you to enter from the
carrier's own SIP settings. The list is a shortcut, not a different
integration: a carrier that is not listed works through **Custom / other**.

## What to collect from the carrier

Whichever you pick, the form needs the same 3 things from the carrier's SIP
trunk settings:

1. **Gateway**: the signalling host or IP, port and protocol. Some carriers give
several; add each as a gateway.
2. **Authentication**: either registration credentials (tick **Requires
Register**) or IP-based authentication, in which case allow Callab AI's public
IP on the carrier side; the form prints it under **Register Public IP in
   Contact**.
3. **Number format**: whether the carrier wants the dialled number with or
without the leading `+`. That sets **Send the leading + to the carrier**.
