title: Change requests
description: "Prompt changes drafted by AI from thumb-down feedback: where they come from, how to review the diff, and how accepting one creates a new revision."
---

**Change Requests**, under **Improve** in the workspace sidebar, holds prompt changes
that AI drafts for you from feedback. You review each one as a diff, edit it if the
wording needs work, and accept it. Accepting applies the change as a new <Term>revision</Term> of
the agent.

Nothing here changes the agent on its own. A change request is a proposal until you
accept it.

## Where change requests come from

Rating a reply **Not helpful** in a text agent's **Chat** test asks **What didn't
land?**, with the app's own explanation: *A short note lets us draft a Change
Request to fix this.* Submit the note, and the change request arrives in this
section within a minute or so. See
[Rating replies](/test-and-improve/testing-in-the-browser#rating-replies).

The comment is what the draft is built from, so say what the agent should have done,
not only that the reply was wrong. "It should have offered the next available slot
instead of asking for a date" gives the draft something to change; "wrong answer"
does not.

Until feedback has come in, the section reads **No open change requests**. The
sidebar entry shows how many are open.

## Reviewing one

The section has two lists: **Open**, for change requests still waiting on a
decision, and **History**, for those already accepted or rejected.

1. Open **Change Requests** under **Improve** and choose one under **Open**.
2. Read the diff: it shows the prompt as it is and as the change request would leave
it, one block per part of the prompt that changes, such as **Agent Identity** or
**Tasks**. Switch between **Unified** and **Side-by-side**, which puts
**Current** and **Proposed** next to each other. **Why**, when shown, explains the
   change.
3. If the text is close but not right, choose **Edit proposed prompt**, change it and
   choose **Save edits**.
4. Choose **Accept** to apply the change as a new revision, or **Reject** to close it
without changing the agent. **Change applied** confirms an accepted one.

Because an accepted change request is an ordinary revision, it appears under
**Versions** like any save, and can be compared and rolled back the same way. See
[Versions](/test-and-improve/versions).

## Before you accept

A change drafted from one conversation can fix that conversation and break others.
Run the agent's [Evaluations](/test-and-improve/evaluations) after accepting, and
before you publish.
